The Padre Fund

The Padre Fund is the cornerstone of Serra's fundraising efforts each year. It benefits all aspects of our school on an annual basis, including our academic program, technology and innovation, campus ministry, student activities and athletics. Through the continued support and commitment of our gracious community of current parents, alumni, parents of alumni and friends, Serra has grown stronger and has expanded on the foundation that we've been building since our founding in 1944.

Fund a Dream

In 2005, we established our Fund a Dream Scholarship Benefit to raise the additional funds necessary to ensure that all qualified applicants who dream of becoming a Serra Padre are afforded that opportunity. We invite you to help make a young man's dream come true by supporting our financial aid program. Together, we will continue Serra's mission for future generations.

Over the past 15 years, Fund a Dream has provided nearly $4 million in support of its financial aid program. Your generosity assures the continued support for students who need our help now more than ever.

Endowment Gifts

A powerful way to make a gift to Serra, and know that it will support an aspect of the school that is close to your heart, is through making an endowment gift. Although the Padre Fund is crucial to funding Serra’s operational budget, creating an endowment, or making an endowment gift, is investing in the future of Serra. An endowment fund can be created to support any specific program at the school, or be directed to support Serra’s financial aid program such as the endowed scholarship funds listed below. These funds contributed a significant amount of dollars towards the $2.5 million of financial aid awarded to deserving families.

To create a new endowment fund, a minimum of $10,000 is required. Once a new endowment is established, it must reach a total of $25,000 within the first five years to continue. If you would like to learn more about making an endowment gift, please contact the Serra Advancement Office , or call 650.573.9935.

Capital Gifts

A capital gift, large or small, is always a major priority for Serra and the future vision of the school. Serra President Lars Lund, the administration and the Board of Regents have strategically developed an innovative capital plan. With the addition of state-of-the-art facilities and technology, Serra will become the jewel of the Bay Area. Capital gifts support this significant endeavor. All alumni, parents of alumni, friends and current parents have an opportunity to help Serra achieve its vision for the future.

Memorial Gifts

A gift to the Memorial Endowment Fund can perpetuate the values and ideals that guided a loved one's life. Gifts provide a tribute in memory of a loved one's passing, or may honor a person during his/her lifetime. When a gift is made, his or her name will be entered into the Serra memorial book. The honoree will be remembered during Mass and an acknowledgement card will be sent to the family. All contributions to the memorial program help fund financial aid for deserving families, assuring the continuance of Serra's legacy of inclusiveness and diversity.
